ABOUT ME
I’ve spent 20+ years in advertising and marketing, and what I care about most is the thinking that happens before the design does: creative strategy, concepting, and brand direction.
My career has moved from hands-on design toward leading it. I currently work as an AVP, Creative, at an advertising agency focused on animal health and pharmaceuticals, where I direct concept and strategy across campaigns while mentoring a team of creatives. Before that, I was Creative Director at a pet insurance startup that grew into a category leader (a role where strategic decisions had real, measurable impact, including a UX/UI redesign that lifted conversions 23% and a marketing team I helped grow 18x as the company scaled). I’ve also run my own design and consulting practice for many years, done my share of freelancing, and taught art direction and graphic design at the university level.
Animal health and pet care is where I keep coming back; it’s the thread running through nearly every chapter of my career, from Petplan (now Fetch Pet Insurance) to my current work at Circa Healthcare to pro bono clients like Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society. I also bring range from restaurants, finance, real estate, and education—but pets are where my true passion lies.
p.s. On a personal note, some of my favorite things are books, wine, casual bird-watching, language, travel, the Beastie Boys, dry wit and sarcasm, and good writing pens (not in that order). As you may have guessed, I live with multiple pets. I’m also inordinately fond of chocolate and making lists (taken together or separately), and I have a habit of overusing parentheses.
